RUTHE LILLIAN PETERSON
March 12,
1915 - January 28, 2008
Ruthe
was born in Redlands, California to Edwin and Emma Liming. She was soon joined by two sisters, Dorothy
and Theadora.
In
1936 Ruthe married Kenneth Garcia. The
had one child, Sondra. Ruthe and Kenneth
eventually divorced. Years later, in
1955 she married Robert Peterson. The
two bought a home in Sylmar, where Ruthe lived until November of 2007. In 1965, after just ten years of marriage,
Robert died suddenly of a heart attack.
Ruthe
had a love for many things: food,
gardening, animals, photography and the ocean. Ruthe’s love for history led her to join the San Fernando Historical
Society. In the 70’s she served as a
docent at the Pico Adobe. She truly
enjoyed her time there.
Ruthe was never without something to do. There was always an appointment to get to, a
trip to go on or a plant to tend to. Her
love for God’s Creation was contagious.
Ruthe is survived by her daughter Sondra; her son-in-law Kevin; her grandchildren, Heidi Behrens, Desmond Henry and Shaina Grill; her grandson-in-law Scott Grill; and her great grandchildren Andrew Grill, Alicia Grill, Zachary Behrens and Natalie Grill. |
